Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ex sample dress?
These are dresses that have been tried on for size or style in a shop. Or, have been featured in a photoshoot or catwalk and there is no further need for them. They have never been worn to a wedding.

I've heard that wedding dresses are usually quite small. Is this true?
Yes, many wedding dresses come up small compared with normal high street sizing, so please don't be shocked when trying on a dress even a few sizes larger than your normal dress size. There is more flexibility when trying on corset tie back wedding gowns as you can tie them tighter or looser as appropriate.

Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes. We want to be able to dedicate our full attention to the bride to ensure that your experience is special. We allow 2 hours for you to try on as many dresses as you like and make that important decision without feeling rushed.

What should I bring along to my appointment?
We would advise that you bring along a strapless bra to provide a better shape under any dress that you try on. It would be a good idea to bring along a pair of shoes with a similar heel height to what you anticipate wearing on your wedding day.

Can I wear makeup?
We would ask you to wear minimal makeup, no perfume and no fake tan. This is so that we can keep our wedding dresses in perfect condition for our brides.

How many people can I bring with me?
We understand how important it is for you to have your friends and family with you to help you make your decision. We can comfortably seat 3 adults, however you are more than welcome to bring more if needed.

What happens if I find my dream dress?
We will require full payment on the day. You will be given plenty of opportunity to examine the dress and it will be sold as seen for you to take away with you on the day.

What if I need alterations?
We can recommend a brilliant local seamstress who can ensure that your dress fits perfectly. You would visit her once you've bought your dress.

What method of payment do you accept?
We currently accept cash or cheque. If paying by cheque, we would need payment to clear before you can take your dress away with you. We would store your dress in a gown bag safely until you are ready to collect it.
